Video Editing for the Masses
September 10th, 2007
If you’re a typical home video buff, you have hundreds of hours of family events and poignant memories on tapes stacked in your closet. But editing down all that footage so you can view the highlights in a coherent and appealing presentation has always required a bit more cash and effort than most people care to invest.
VideoDirector Studio 200, announced by Pinnacle Systems at the Demo 97 trade show in Indian Wells, California, represents a less expensive approach to the challenge.
This low-cost version of more sophisticated Pinnacle video editing systems provides an editing interface between your PC (equipped with a 386 or better processor and at least 8MB of RAM), camcorder, and VCR.
In addition to titles, transitions, and other effects, VideoDirector Studio 200 offers a range of editing features based on a drag-and-drop interface. It can also capture high-resolution still images from tape and transfer images from graphics applications back to tape.
The product is scheduled to ship February 21 with an estimated street price of $295.
